7-31-06 Special day

Papa Tom and baby Burke had their first bonding moment today...it was an intensely beautiful experience for them both. Burke slept peacefully in his arms while his respiratory rate and oxygen was the best it's been in days! Burke continues to improve but still needs support for breathing...we hope he'll be off the CPAP machine in a few days. Burke is now getting breastmilk again...not much but it will increase slowly over the days to come.

Hello Nate & Chris...this is Christi (Needham) Kitt. I have been talking with Jen Kallevig over the last few weeks and I ran into Nate's parents at Home Depot the other day and I had to pop in and say hello and let you know I was thinking of you all and have you in my prayers. What a georgous baby you have!!!! You both look great holding that beautiful baby! Take Care- Christi

Great photo of Tom and Burke. Nate and Chris, Hold in there. Take strength in your relationship together. God brought you together and you are ONE. Keep this in mind through out everything you experience. I'm proud of both of you. You are great parents and you show this in your actions. Things are improving and Burke is growing stronger. I hope to see you guys within a few weeks. -derek

Chris, Nate & Burke,
You are constently in our prayers and thoughts. Pipes said she gave you a big hug from me. I so desperately wish I was there to pitch in, but our prayers long distance will have to do! Thank you so much for sharing your story online and the wonderful pictures of the new family! I check the blog everyday.
Love ya!
Blessings,
Carrie, Matt and Annie
